3M™ Overpaintable Stonechip Coating is an alkyd resin-based coating for lower auto body panels that provides stone chip protection with anticorrosive and soundproofing properties. TF versions are toluene-free.
Use 3M™ Overpaintable Stonechip Coating on lower auto body panels to help protect against stone chip impact in collision repair and vehicle refinishing applications. This fast-drying, overpaintable coating is formulated with an alkyd resin base and is designed for application to primed or painted surfaces before topcoating with automotive paint systems. It offers anticorrosive and soundproofing properties and can be painted over with air-drying and low-bake paints after 30 minutes at room temperature (23°C). TF versions are toluene-free.When used with compatible 3M spray applicators, including the 3M™ Air-Line Fed Gun, Undercoating Spray Gun, or the 3M™ Performance Spray Gun with 3M™ PPS™ Series 2.0 Type H/O Pressure Cup, technicians can achieve a range of textures by adjusting application setup and air pressure.
